Nine years ago (2017), I was doing what parents everywhere do—helping my son rehearse his vocabulary homework. But then something unexpected happened: instead of saying the words out loud, he grabbed his phone and texted me the answers.
That moment sparked an idea. What if parents could help their children practice, even when they weren't in the same room? What if homework could happen anywhere, anytime, in a more engaging way?
From that simple text message, Play Homework was born. At first, it was straightforward: snap a photo of your vocabulary homework, and practice with three exercises—spelling, speaking, and our signature "chill wheel."
The realization of the word challenge did not arrive until late 2025. Thanks to the classroom chat becoming more advanced, the environment was perfect for finalizing it, together with being able to send quizzes and memory games to each other and compete.
